Benny Blanco is breaking down his wife Selena Gomez’s particular eating habits.
While filming a recent episode of Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop” podcast, Blanco, 38, claimed that Gomez, 33, has “ the diet of a 5-year-old child.”
The Daily Mail claimed that Blanco said Gomez often eats “whatever is bad for [her] diet” and “doesn’t really like” fruits or vegetables.
“This morning, I walked in and she was eating Jack in the Box at 6:45 in the morning,” Blanco said, noting that “the one healthy thing” the Only Murders in the Building star will try are dishes from Paltrow’s Goop Kitchen takeout chain. “She will eat the s*** out of Goop.”
Gomez also has an affinity for pickles, which she revealed on Blanco’s “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast in March.
“What is your favorite thing to eat in the world? … What’s your favorite snack you eat every single night that’s salty?” Blanco replied, handing out a pickle snack.
Gomez and Blanco have been together since 2023, tying the knot two years later in 2025. While Blanco is a record producer by trade, he’s also tried his hand in the kitchen and authored his own cookbook, Open Wide.

“Cooking is scary,” Blanco exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2024. “Throwing a dinner party … forget about it. But I promise you, Open Wide is gonna be the secret handbook in your back pocket. You can pull [my book] out any time you want to impress some guests.”
Even before Blanco and Gomez started dating, the “Sunset Boulevard” singer has also tried to improve her culinary skills.
“People who know me know that I love to cook, except I have no idea what to do or how to do it,” Gomez said on a 2020 episode of Selena + Chef. “I can’t even fix eggs properly. So while I’ve been stuck at home, I thought what better time to improve my skills in the kitchen.”
Starting over the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, Gomez launched an eponymous cooking series to learn recipes from famous chefs.
“I thought it could be an interesting idea to do a cooking show and people could learn and improve their skills along with me,” Gomez told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, noting the series raised thousands for local nonprofits. “When we first started discussing the show, this was the most important aspect to me. Whenever I agree to come on board with a brand partner, I always make sure there is a charity aspect to the deal.”
She added at the time, “Cooking [shows seem] to cross demos, and people find them very calming. That’s been really interesting to hear, I have to say.”
