Talk about a tasty birthday! Blake Lively turned 33 on Tuesday, August 25, and took to social media the following day to show the myriad of delicious treats and other gifts that made her celebration super sweet.
To start her birthday off right, the Gossip Girl alum enjoyed a homemade McDonald’s Egg McMuffin for breakfast, which she proudly showed off on her Instagram Stories. The muffin was topped with an egg, a sausage patty, and plenty of Sriracha mayonnaise. “Homemade [McDonald’s] muffin,” she wrote above her meal. “[Yes, knowing that there are two ‘r’s in Sriracha is the true gage of who’s committed to their condiments.]”
Next on the eating agenda for the birthday girl? Several containers of fancy gelato from Il Laboratorio del Gelato, which has two locations in New York City. “Telling myself I bought so many to support one of my favorite NYC small businesses,” she explained alongside a snapshot of tubs filled with different flavors of the frozen dessert. “But the reasons were honestly mostly selfish.”
And since no birthday is complete without cake, the Age of Adaline actress took to her Instagram Stories once more on Thursday, August 27, to give her followers a peek at the seemingly homemade cake she enjoyed. She snapped a photo of it as her husband, Ryan Reynolds, brought it to her so she could blow out her birthday candles.
While the berry-topped dessert was certainly impressive, Lively was more focused on her spouse’s bulging bicep as he held the confection. She shared a series of seven photos, with each one zooming in a little closer on the flexed muscle. “Happy birthday to me,” she quipped.
On the non-food front, Lively marked the special occasion with a necklace that was seemingly engraved with the names of her and 43-year-old Reynolds’ three daughters. According to the Simple Favor star’s Instagram Story, the jewelry was a gift from pal and jewelry designer, Jennifer Meyer. It’s on a gold chain and boasts a matching nameplate with “James” and “Inez” written on it in between engraved hearts. Though Lively didn’t share a peek at the whole necklace, it’s safe to assume her third daughter’s name, Betty, was also included.
While Lively and Reynolds have yet to publicly commented on their youngest child’s moniker, friend Taylor Swift confirmed earlier this month that her new song, “Betty,” is named after the little one, who was born in 2019. The tune also includes characters named after Betty’s older sisters — James, 5, and Inez, 3.
