As excited as we are about summer and about the opportunity to bare our toes, shopping for summer shoes can be downright painful. From sandals that cut into your arches to flats that hurt your heels, finding a cute and comfortable summer shoe is a journey that oftentimes leaves you with blisters and Band-Aids.
Everlane, the brand behind some of our favorite tanks, shorts and work-ready dresses, recently released a pair of flats that’s meant to be comfortable enough to wear all day: the aptly-named Day Glove. The flats are made of 100 percent Italian leather and are designed to fit your foot like a glove or a sock, molding into your perfect shape over time. They’re basically the closest thing you’ll get to custom-made flats without the custom-made price tag.
Designed for the days when sneakers feel just a touch too casual, the Day Glove flats are totally laceless and come with a back pull tab to make slipping into a pair super easy. The side vents provide ventilation and the almond-shaped toe is just pointed enough to give a slimming effect to the foot while still being wide enough to not squish your toes.
Don’t just take our word for it, though. The flats have over 500 reviews with an average rating of 4.57 out of 5. Many of the reviewers noted the “buttery soft leather” and just how “wearable” the shoe was. Some reviewers also noted that the front comes up higher on the foot than the average ballet flat, which provides a sturdier fit.
