In life, everything happens for a reason, a season or for a lifetime. Surely, it’s safe to say the same can be applied to our wardrobes. When building an error-proof, fashion-forward capsule collection, we carefully curate each piece with those three instances in mind. Of course, it’s easier said than done. Those lifetime pieces are nothing short of an investment. The style that we seem to be investing in the most? Leather.
It’s not that everything is just better in leather, it’s that everything actually just looks better in leather. No matter the season or even the reason, leather is the stylish staple that can be worn at every and any age regardless of the season. Whether it’s a jacket, skirt or even a little black bootie, there is no wrong way to inject leather into our day-to-day wardrobe. In our own personal quest to find the most universally flattering piece of leather, we set out searching for a suitable piece that we could invest in, without a monetary investment. While we didn’t find the perfect piece of leather, we did in fact, find the perfect piece of faux leather.

The Commando Perfect Pencil Faux Leather skirt is the smoothest style on the market.
The anything-but-basic black skirt features a high-waisted top half that pairs perfectly with a hidden back zipper. This zipper works overtime to smooth all the right places. Not only is the leather skirt’s design ultra-smooth, but it also seems to be ultra slimming as well.
Our favorite reviewer, so insightfully pointed out how the faux leather skirt was a true, two-for-one.
So often shoppers face the awkward bulges and bumps that come with the high-waisted style. Not here! The reviewer was at a loss of words at how absolutely amazing the Spanx-like feature is on this stunning skirt. Amazingly so, the reviewer even went as far as to say the skirt isn’t just flattering, but flawless. The skirt features built-in shorts that, in turn, leave wearers with a flawless, flat tummy. If the top of the skirt wasn’t unbearably tight, the bottom was. It was always the latter. Much to her surprise, this skirt was the solution! With just the right amount of give, this Spanx-like feature seems to provide this already flattering skirt with an elastic-like fit.
In terms of the overall fit, many reviewers mention that it’d be smartest for future buyers to size up. One reviewer goes on to clarify the reasoning. The point of a pencil skirt is to give our shape, well, shape. Sure, the shape this skirt gives is exceptional but in turn, it could be a bit too tight. By sizing up one additional size, the reviewer believes it would fit everyone a bit better. We love how this reviewer took a potential con for future buyers and instead handled it like a pro with this tip!
