Every time goop releases a new product, we can feel it in our soul. It’s like our very own Spidey sense is tingling, but instead of sensing danger, we’re sensing the hottest new skincare around. This time, we were led to a treatment so powerful, we’re ashamed we didn’t find it even sooner. We’ll forgive ourselves though, because this is a brand new product launch!
The GOOPGLOW 15% Glycolic Overnight Glow Peel was inspired by a chemical peel goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow used to get from her dermatologist. She wanted to create something accessible and easy to use for everyone at home, and thus these magic little pads were born!

Paltrow describes this treatment as “really, really powerful” in her introductory video of the product. We’re not messing around, here! As its name suggests, it contains 15% glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is an anti-aging ingredient that’s very popular among dermatologists and estheticians for its potential benefits. It may help to remove dead skin cells chemically, rather than physically with a scrub, and increase our skin’s cellular turnover, keeping it youthful and firm!
This peel also features tropical fruit acids from mangoes, bananas, yellow mombin and Australian Kakadu plum. Fun fact: The Kakadu plum contains more vitamin C than an orange! Vitamin C is very popular in skincare for its ability to help the production of collagen. Lastly, to offset these powerful acids is a healthy dose of hyaluronic acid, which is known for its potential hydrating and moisturizing powers.
Each side of the peel pad is differently textured. In her demonstration video, Paltrow uses the smooth side on her face, moving in circular motions. She then switches to the other side to target her neck, chest and shoulders, concentrating on areas where we see the most sun damage. This is an overnight treatment, so wait until just before bedtime to use it and make sure to always start with cleansed skin!

If the treatment tingles, don’t worry! It’s to be expected. Feel free to test it on a hand first to know what to expect. After 10 minutes, we can choose to layer a moisturizer on top, or we can skip it altogether and head straight to bed. Those with dryer skin may want to moisturize! Then we can sleep peacefully, dreaming of glowing skin, and when we wake up, we just might have it!
Make sure to rinse in the morning. When Paltrow wakes up after using this treatment, she describes her skin as “fresh, smooth, bright and glowing.” How did she know all of our favorite adjectives?
