When it comes to fashion, Duchess Kate can certainly do no wrong. So when the British royal, 36, stepped out on Tuesday, October 2, for her first official post-maternity leave engagement, we couldn’t help but be at the edge of our seats to see what she chose to wear. Needless to say, we weren’t disappointed!

Duchess Kate returned to her royal duties, since welcoming son Prince Louis in April, with a visit to Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden at London’s Paddington Recreation Ground, where she spoke about the importance of outdoor activities. For the outing, the fashionable royal wore her khaki Zara jeans, a Joseph rosebud print silk blouse, a charcoal sweater and Penelope Chilvers boots. However, what really drew our eyes (besides her shorter, freshly-highlighted new ‘do) was her fall-ready Fjallraven jacket.
The jacket — which is made of a mixture of cotton and polyester — boasts fitted sleeves and a fixed hood that’s designed to fit snugly around your face. It has two vertical pockets with zipper closure, both placed under the chest to create as little bulk as possible. There’s a zipper in the front and an inner flap, plus there are buttons at the sleeve cuffs for adjustment. You can even wax the style to protect you from wind, rain and the elements.
The best part about the jacket is that it comes in an array of colors. Sure, you can pick up the duchess’ green topper, or you can opt to snap up the style in a deep burnished red, a jet black or a stunning navy.
If the duchess’ royal seal of approval isn’t enough to make you want to add the outerwear to your shopping cart immediately, then the jacket’s glowing reviews might. One shopper claimed that the jacket fits better than some of the North Face styles they own. Another noted that they wear the jacket around town and that it’s pretty wind and waterproof. In short, nearly everyone who purchased and reviewed the classic style had only good things to say.
