With summer weather on the horizon, we want to be excited about beach trips, pool parties and picnics in the park, but there’s one thing holding us back: our dry skin. We want to keep it safe and hidden from the outside world, but we don’t want to be recluses and we definitely don’t want to go swimming in our jeans. The only solution is to soften up our skin, and the way to make it happen is with this cult-favorite body cream!
The L’Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream isn’t messing around. This cream is intensely packed with 25% shea butter, specifically made for those of us with irritatingly and visibly dry skin. It claims to be the quencher to our parched skin’s thirst, with L’Occitane claiming that it moisturizes for up to 72 hours!
Hundreds of shoppers are saying it “doesn’t get better than this” cream, noting that it hydrates without leaving any greasy residue behind. This cream is so moisturizing that one happy shopper with psoriasis said “this is the only one [they] have found that will soften [their] skin!” Another shopper even added an extra benefit, saying that it helps their fake tan last longer! Others continued to shower the cream with compliments, calling it both “outstanding” and “luxurious.”
This paraben-free cream is packed with shea butter because of the ingredient’s potential ability to boost the moisture level of our skin. It works alongside vitamin E, which may protect us from free radicals, and antioxidants which may shield us from harsh environmental damage. Rounding out the key ingredients are essential oils and dimethicone, a moisture sealant. We’re dealing with a serious supergroup of ingredients, here.
This nourishing cream is made to maintain our skin’s hydrolipidic film. Our what now? The hydrolipidic film is a natural protective barrier on the surface of our skin, so it’s in our best interest to keep it intact! That way, this cream may be able to bring out the healthy glow we know is hiding somewhere deep down beneath our pores and flakes.
To use this cream, it’s ideal that we wait until after a shower or bath so it has as much time to soak into clean skin as possible. Massage it over any dry areas or patches around the body, making sure it absorbs properly. We don’t have to stick to just once a day, though. Feel free to use a bit more whenever skin starts to feel dry or tight! We like to moisturize our extra dry patches right before bed.
We can only imagine how gorgeously soft and glowy our skin would be if we used a rejuvenating body scrub in the shower and followed up with this rich cream. The beach isn’t even ready for Us, but we’re ready for it. Does this mean we can finally go swimsuit shopping? Actually, don’t answer that. We’re just going to answer ourselves with a resounding yes! Insert a Beach Boys song here.
