This dress’ pattern is called Vintage Weave Vetiver. Blocks of navy with green and white borders weave in and around each other, giving off just a hint of shine. This pattern continues onto the sleeves, which are a semi-transparent mesh material and reach halfway down the upper half of our arm toward our elbows.
This dress has a plunging V-neckline. The fabric gathers and cinches up high on our waist, just below our chest, creating a wide strip of fabric across the top of our stomach. This is such an incredibly flattering feature, elongating our silhouette, smoothing our shape and creating an opportunity for the skirt to flare out just a bit!
The skirt is wrap-style — an iconic feature from DVF. It gathers up at the left side of our waist, draping down to just below our knees in two layers. The uneven hem flows beautifully, adding an element of class while further working to flatter us!

While the skirt brings back the transparent illusion fabric we see at the sleeves, we don’t have to worry about any see-through sections leaving us accidentally exposed. The layering is placed perfectly so we can achieve the pretty effect.
Where to wear this Farrell dress? The easier question would be where not to wear it. Its versatility is downright impressive. Pieces don’t have to be solid, plain or basic to be versatile. If we wear this dress with a pair of golden heels and maybe experiment with a crown braid, we could be all set for a semi-formal party. If we wear a blazer and switch out the heels for mules or wedges, we’ll be best dressed at work, for sure!
If we want to wear this dress out for a more casual occasion, we can pair it with a light-wash denim jacket and a white pair of sneakers. Easy! Don’t forget to experiment with makeup, too. We love the idea of lining our eyes in a green to match the one on this dress, with a hint of gold on the inner corners for a pop! Finish up with a petal pink lipstick and matching blush!
