We often put bags into two categories, even if they’re all different shapes and sizes. We have our low-key everyday bags, and our statement, “it’s time to have fun now” bags. We love a good variety! But what we don’t love is constantly switching our belongings from bag to bag just to suit an occasion. We’d prefer to just leave one hanging near our door so we can grab it and go, but we’re also not trying to stand out in all the wrong ways.
This Rebecca Minkoff crossbody bag falls right into that sweet spot at the center of serious and fun. The designer brand is known for its “playful and subtly edgy designs,” and this bag’s accents are absolutely nailing that concept while its solid, neutral backdrop makes it a wear-everywhere favorite. It’s sure to stand out in a crowd, but not in a loud, obnoxious way! It garners the kind of attention that gradually has everyone quieting down in awe and turning their head to catch a glimpse. Kind of like the way we turned our heads when we saw this bag was over $200 off!
The outside of this mini crossbody is constructed of a soft, textured leather, which maintains the same shade throughout. The silver-toned hardware shines quietly, stylishly placed so as not to overwhelm the bag’s laid-back, boho vibe.
This crossbody has a fold-over magnetic closure, its flap reaching down almost the entire height of the bag, which is a little over seven inches tall. In the center of the flap is a wide strap detail, which is the standout feature of the bag. Thin leather pieces lace down each side of the strap, creating both visual and physical texture and affirming the boho-chic look.
In the center of this strap is a curved topstitching making its way halfway down, leading our eyes toward the hardware details. There is a mini pull ring, and then, as the strap tapers at the bottom, it adjoins to loop around a bigger pull ring, which hangs past the flap.
Attached to this metal pull ring is a tassel, which sways beneath the bag and offers us ease in opening the bag up. This tassel is a fun feature, but, again, in a quieter sense, matching the bag’s leather. It doesn’t scream fun, but it gently whispers it with a reassuring confidence, leaving us wanting more.
This bag’s strap is long and skinny. It’s belt-style, so it’s adjustable, letting us customize where the bag falls on our body. The buckle has silver-toned hardware to match the clasps and rings, so we can have that little glimmer up on our shoulders, too!
The inside of this bag is fully lined in black, with a chevron-like, intersecting pattern just a shade above the lining’s base color. There are multiple internal compartments and pockets, including a zip pocket for storing away secrets, or maybe just our keys so we can easily access them.
This bag is currently available in two colors. Black is as it sounds. It’s a true black, not a charcoal falsely parading as black. The leather still offers a pretty shine when it finds its light so we can see and adore its high-quality construction and make out every last detail.
The other color is Dove Grey, a light grey with the slightest taupe undertone and a pearl-like effect in its sheen. This shade is great because it will go with both black and brown shoes and belts, as well as every other color of the rainbow and beyond. Is it just Us, or does it also have kind of a calming effect? This bag is next level in so many unexpected ways!
With this bag being almost 70% off, we feel like we’ve stumbled on the opportunity of the century. In reality, YOOX is just having an amazing sale with designer items up to 85% off, but with this bag’s insane discount, we feel lucky to have found it while it’s still in stock, and in two colors, nonetheless! This is the best time to board the Rebecca Minkoff train, and if we’re already on it, this train just went express!
