The actress recently revealed all of the items she can’t live without to New York Magazine, listing anything from hot sauce, to phone chargers to crystals! We’re total skincare fanatics, though, so we were immediately drawn to her favorite lip balm.
“One thing I hate is having dry, chapped lips,” Mitchell explained. “I always bring my La Mer Lip Balm with me to keep my lips soft. We were loving what we were reading, so we obviously went to find out more. This lip balm has a buttery-soft, velvet-like texture, with a slight hint of mint for a cooling tingle and fresh flavor. It claims to calm, restore and condition lips, transforming them from drab to fab!
This emollient lip balm works to soften and smooth out our rough and uneven lips, claiming to nourish them and even strengthen their natural moisture barrier so we can stay protected against future environmental damage, as well. That means fewer reapplications and way less time wasted exfoliating our lips at night only to wake up and find them peeling again!

A major component of this La Mer lip balm is, you guessed it, the brand’s signature Miracle Broth! This cell-renewing ingredient is the star of all of La Mer’s products, and is made with “hand-harvested sea kelp and pure nutrients and minerals unlocked through a proprietary three-four month fermentation process.” Basically, it’s amazing.
To use this lip balm, take a tiny bit out of the pretty, portable pot and warm it on your finger. Once it’s activated, apply it to lips with light patting motions, being careful not to tug on delicate skin. We can even apply it before following up with lip color! This lip balm isn’t “one or the other” when it comes to makeup — we can use both!
This La Mer lip balm is formulated without any parabens, sulfates or phthalates, so it won’t be yet another temporary fix. So many lip balms seem great when we first apply them, but we swear they leave our lips even worse off than before! That’s because they include these little nasty ingredients, but we’re good to go with La Mer!
