Shoppers are “so impressed” by this nautical-inspired dress, calling it “super flattering” and “adorable,” making sure to comment on the exceptional quality, as well. One of the most popular aspects of this dress is one that we actually can’t see — the fact that it doesn’t wrinkle! Multiple shoppers said this dress would be a go-to for their next vacation since it holds up so well even in cramped travel conditions!
This dress has a bateau (also known as boat) neckline and three-quarter length sleeves that are lightly fitted to our arms. It has a swingy A-line silhouette that hits just above the knees, which means our every step will be accompanied by a flourish of flowing fabric. We said this dress would be fun!
Our favorite feature, however, is hiding over on the back. Turn the dress around to find a lace-up tie detail between the shoulder blades! So incredibly cute! We also love that it’s not something that needs to be untied and re-tied throughout the day. Convenience is key!

Another favorite feature of ours is obviously the pockets. They’re hiding at the side seams, but they’re there and we are showing them all of our love! Pockets forever.
This swing dress is currently available in two colors: Navy Peacoat and Navy Multi Springs Stripe. Navy Peacoat is a deep, solid blue, but plays a little with pattern up on the lace-up tie, which is striped. The Navy Multi Springs Stripe version has a horizontal stripe pattern of navy, coral-red and beige, but in this version, the back tie is actually solid navy!
1901, named for the year Nordstrom first opened, is all about creating updated classics with “never-ending styling potential,” and the brand really hit the mark with this dress. It can easily be worn year-round, with anything from tights, to knee-high boots, to bare legs. It’s more than modest enough to wear to the office, but it features that bit of flair to make it fun enough for a night out, too!
Adding this dress to our wardrobe is the easiest decision we’ve made in a long time, and we just know other shoppers will feel the same!
