Travis Kelce will suit up for at least one more season with the Kansas City Chiefs, but the tight end has given fans a hint of what might be in store when he finally hangs it up.
ESPN broadcaster and Dallas Cowboys legend Troy Aikman joined Travis, 36, and his brother, Jason Kelce, on their “New Heights” podcast, where Aikman, 59, suggested a job at ESPN might be waiting for him.
“I don’t know, man,” Travis replied during the Monday, April 20 episode. “ESPN’s a very polished organization. I don’t know if I…I’m just kidding, man! I’d have a f***ing blast, dude!”
He continued, “Considering Jason’s first time on-air, he’s screaming ‘tits,’ yeah. And he still has a job.”
Jason, 38, retired from the NFL in 2024 and now works with Aikman at ESPN. He quickly gained a reputation as an analyst willing to say anything — including the word “tits,” which became a regular part of his on-air vocabulary.
But no matter what Travis decides to do a year from now, he has much more on his plate in the immediate future. He and fiancée, Taylor Swift, are getting ready for their wedding, which will go down before the start of the 2026 NFL season
Travis is hoping the 2026 campaign will bring some redemption for the Chiefs, who shockingly missed the playoffs last season. As Travis explained to Jason during a “New Heights’ episode in March, the chance to put 2025 in the past was part of his decision to return.
“I was taking the advice to take a step back, because you gotta let the emotions clear and you gotta have a clear head,” he said, referring to his brother’s advice to not decide on his future immediately after the season. “I’ve made decisions based on emotions and they haven’t always played out the right way. So I think taking a step back, letting the emotions settle down, the frustrations from the season — of course I want to come back. Of course I don’t want to end my career not making the playoffs, not having one of the best years.”
He continued, “Obviously there’s still a little bit of that grit and that emotion, you know, I f***ing hated the way that s*** ended last year. I want to make it right. And I want to get a chance at another f***ing Super Bowl.”
Travis made his decision official on March 23, sharing a video to the Chiefs’ social media accounts confirming his return.
“Chiefs Kingdom, let’s go baby, it’s official! Excited for 2026 and just excited to put on a Chiefs uniform in front of you guys again,” he said in the video. “Let’s get Arrowhead rocking, baby.”
