You can now dress your inner child … in style.
On Monday, May 13, Disney Parks announced an upcoming limited-edition line of Mickey and Minnie Mouse ear hats and headbands. But these aren’t just your average playful costume. Designed by celebrities like Heidi Klum and Karlie Kloss as well as fashion designers like Vera Wang and Betsey Johnson, each month a new headpiece will be revealed as part of the Disney Parks Designer Collection.
The first to drop is from southern California brand, Harveys, which will be released on May 24. And over the next few months, we will see more pieces from The Blonds, Coach, Alex and Ani, Star Wars actress Ashley Eckstein and many more.
Seems like the folks behind the designs were just as psyched to hear about the idea as we imagine Disney fans will be to get their hands on the goods! “Bedazzling the most famous ears in the world is like a dream come true for me. I am still pinching myself,” Klum said in a statement. “To all Mickey and Minnie fans — I hope you love wearing them as much as I do.” The T.V. personality created a set of ears fit for a princess. Completely covered in sparkly rhinestones and sequins, this standout headpiece is set to be launch this fall.
Major A-list designers are also getting in on the fun, including celebrity-favorite Vera Wang. Although her pair has not yet been released, her sketch showcases a veil-like design that perfectly emulates Wang’s blushing bride esthetic. In the statement, she explains that the silk and tulle fabric has hand-sewn crystals and pearl embroidery, elevating Minnie Mouse ears to a level we didn’t even know was possible.
“As a life-long lover of Disney, and the joy and happiness, not to mention fantasy Disney has inspired in all of us — I am both thrilled and honored to have partnered with them to create the Vera Wang Disney wedding veil with the iconic mouse ears so symbolic of their global brand,” Wang said in the statement. “To brides and collectors alike, this is a special item to treasure and celebrate!”
At the start of 2020, Project Runway host Karlie Kloss will also showcase a dazzling set of ears. We can harly wait to see them all!
