The Karl Lagerfeld x L’Oreal cosmetics collection — which will be available for purchase in the U.S. starting in 2020 — will be revealed on September 20, 2019, during Paris Fashion Week.

“For L’Oreal Paris, all of our fashion collaborations are an honor, but this one is particularly meaningful,” L’Oreal Paris global brand ambassador Delphine Viguier said in a statement. “While Karl upturned the hierarchy of the landscape to democratize fashion, L’Oreal Paris is committed to making beauty according to women’s own rules and desires. We look forward to sharing with the world the makeup born from this creative connection: Karl Lagerfeld’s rock chic and L’Oreal Paris’ empowered vision of beauty.”

The iconic designer — who died in February 2019 at age 85 — began the collaboration while he was still alive. Caroline Lebar, the head of image and communication at Maison Karl Lagerfeld, said that the line will offer everything fans of the owner of cat Choupette have come to expect. “This line of makeup truly reflects … what Karl loved in makeup,” she stated. “He often used eyeshadows as color in his sketches.”

While the designer often found himself defending his controversial remarks, Lagerfeld was beloved for his sleek designs as well as his personal eccentricities. In June 2017, his kitty Choupette, dedicated a very special Instagram to him. “Happy #FathersDay Daddy,” the fluffy, white feline “wrote.” “Thank you for bringing me into the (fashion) world.”
