Ponytails, Lobs and Cherry Lips Topped the Red Carpet Beauty Trends at the Golden Globes 2016: Watch!

Pushing the beauty envelope! While celebs played it safe style-wise at the 2016 Golden Globes, they thankfully took more of a chance in the hair and makeup departments. Stars took their chances with intriguing hairstyles and bold lips, and Us Weekly has rounded up the biggest beauty trends of the night with some tips on how to do it yourself.

Saoirse Ronan opted for a unique Grecian-inspired hair accessory, while Olivia Wilde and Natalie Dormer proved a ponytail was worthy of the red carpet.

“Saoirse Ronan had this amazing modern take where all of her hair was pulled back and fastened with what I thought, watching on TV, was a long barrette, but actually it was a piece of gold twine … it looked fresh and modern, and you can take any ribbon that you have at home to get that look,” Us Weekly’s Beauty Director, Gwen Flamberg, said. “It’s all about where you fasten it. That’s what makes it new and fresh for this year.”

Stars were also making statements with their lips, while giving a nod to old Hollywood glam. Jennifer Lawrence, Eva Green and Rachel McAdams gave their pouts a pop of cherry, while Jennifer Lopez and Laverne Cox went with a darker berry that complemented both of their dresses.
