She’s here! Kim Kardashian took to her app to announce the birth of her third child with husband Kanye West — and revealed North and Saint are “especially thrilled.”
“Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl,” Kardashian wrote on her app on Tuesday, January 16. “We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”
Kardashian adds that their daughter was born on Monday, January 15, at 12:47 a.m. PT and weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz. The title of the post is “She’s here!” and also reads “We’re so in love.”
As previously reported, West’s rep confirmed to Us that the couple welcomed their third child, a girl, via surrogate, on Tuesday.
Us exclusively reported that the couple’s surrogate was three months pregnant in July. The reality star, 37, opted to use a surrogate after suffering from placenta accreta — a life-threatening condition — while pregnant with North, 4, and Saint, 2.
Kardashian later confirmed the news in a trailer for the Keeping Up With the Kardashian’s 14th season in October. In the heartwarming clip, she FaceTimed with her sister Khloé Kardashian when she revealed the happy news. “What happens every time I say, ‘Guess what?’” Kim asked, to which Khloé answered, “The person’s pregnant.” Kim gushed, “We’re having a baby!”
The KKW beauty creator confirmed the sex of their third bundle of joy while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November.
“We had a baby shower over the weekend, and I thought, you know, I really do want to have a baby shower because I want [North] to feel that something’s coming and for her to really understand it,” Kardashian said at the time. “People brought toys and gifts, and [North] was opening them all up the next day and she goes, ‘Mom, since baby sister’s not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room and play with them and make sure they’re all OK for baby sister.’”
Kardashian and West got engaged in October 2013 and tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, in May 2014.
