Ben Affleck is one smooth operator. Just a few days after taking a pair of clippers to his famous beard at a private Oscars after-party in West Hollywood, the two-time Academy Award winner resurfaced in Long Beach with his newly clean-shaven face.
Affleck, 40, sported just a hint of stubble -- a marked contrast to his previously full scruff -- as he made his way to a TED conference on Thursday, Feb. 28. With his 5 o'clock shadow, blue sport coat, checkered shirt, and sunglasses, the father-of-three looked every bit the dapper director he is.
As Us Weekly reported earlier this week, the star shaved his beard during a private, late-night bash at Craig's restaurant, where he and wife Jennifer Garner were celebrating Argo's Best Picture win with friends and colleagues (including Argo producer George Clooney). A source told Us that his pals were egging him on in the hallway, and that Garner "actually brought the clippers to the party."
"He did it himself at the restaurant," the insider tells Us of Affleck, who grew out the scruff as his lucky charm during awards season, much to the dismay of his wife, 40, and kids Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Samuel, 12 months. "The whole family was tired of the beard!"
