When '90s grunge and R&B collide! Courtney Love and Mariah Carey posed for an epic picture together while in Cannes, France on Tuesday, June 17. Dolled up, the world-famous but decidedly different singers found time to gush over each other while attending the Clear Channel Media dinner at the swanky Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.
In the grainy snapshot, the "Doll Parts" rocker, 49, and Carey, 44, posed back-to-back with their arms overlapping each other. The rockstar donned what appeared to be a red dress while Nick Cannon's wife wore a black one.
"Love u @MariahCarey xxx," Love wrote via Instagram. Carey retweeted the frame-worthy picture and replied: "x0x0."
Both the former Hole singer and Carey have been keeping busy as of late. On Wednesday, Love was interviewed at the 61st Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity during the Legends of Music Seminar event. Carey, meanwhile, recently released her 14th studio album Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse.
No word on whether Love and Carey would ever collaborate together, but the pair did come close once. In February 2010, Love revealed that Carey almost lent her powerhouse vocals to Love's song "Nobody's Daughter," off Hole's last studio album. She volunteered when Love visited director Brett Ratner at his L.A. home.
"I'm at his house and I sing the part, 'People like you f--k people like me.' And this little voice goes, 'I'll sing it.' I'm like, 'Who's that?'" Love recalled in an interview with Spinner. "The voice goes, 'It's Mariah.' It was hysterical. I never met Mariah for more than a minute in my life, but we sort of canceled each other out. We had nothing negative about each other to say. I'm not in her universe and she's not in mine."
