Do tell! Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth locked lips way before the 2015 American Music Awards back in November. The “No” singer reveals in Seventeen magazine’s May 2016 issue that she and Puth once got physical in a studio.
“Probably one drunk makeout. I don’t know if he’s going to be mad I said that!” Trainor, 22 said. “We were next to each other, recording a duet, and then I think I kissed him. It was cool.”
But did history repeat itself? “And then we never did it again. Ever,” she insisted. “When we’d hang out, it would be like buddies.”
Trainor and Puth weren’t just pals at the American Music Awards, however. The pair passionately kissed on stage after performing the songs “Marvin Gaye” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.”
“I mean, the reaction has been insane. I’m getting followed everywhere,” Puth told Us Weekly following the star-studded show. “We’re best friends! That’s another person I can relate to and I ask for advice with everything. We’re really great friends and that’s never going to change.”
Even so, the PDA-fest looked all too real. Fans were especially taken aback when Puth grabbed Trainor’s butt during the live broadcast.
“A lot of people want to grab my butt ’cause they’re like, ‘Oh, the bass,'” Trainor told Seventeen, referring to her 2014 debut hit, “All About That Bass.” “They ask, and I’m like ‘Yeah, no thanks.”
