Safe House Barely Bumps The Vow Out of Top Box Office Spot
The Vow and Safe House were neck and neck at the box office this weekend, with the Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds' action flick pulling ahead by just a hair.
In their second weekends in theaters, Safe House pulled in $24 million while The Vow, starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams grossed $23.6 million.
Last week, The Vow took the number 1 spot with $41.2 million and Safe House was at number 2 with $40.2 million.
Meanwhile Nicholas Cage's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance made its debut at number 3, banking $22 million and Josh Hutcherson's Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (in its second week) was close behind with $20 million.
Having a not-so-great debut at the box office? Reese Witherspoon's This Means War, which was reportedly held for a week because of the anticipation for The Vow. It held down the number 5 spot with $17.5 million.
