Eva Longoria‘s newborn son, Santiago, wore a Mexico shirt as they watched a World Cup soccer game on Saturday, June 23.
“Look who’s ready for #Mexico game!” she captioned the pic of her husband, Jose “Pepe” Baston, holding the 4-day-old baby, as he wore a green shirt with his name — Santi — printed on the back.
Longoria’s friend and soccer great David Beckham commented on the pic, writing, “OMG best picture ever… I’m so happy for you guys. What an amazing picture and proud moment @evalongoria.”
As Us Weekly previously reported, the Desperate Housewives alum, 43, and Baston, welcomed their first child together in L.A. on Tuesday, June 19.
“We are so grateful for this beautiful blessing,” the couple said in a statement to Hola! USA, as they shared the first photo of the newborn, whose full name is Santiago Enrique Baston, with Us and the magazine.
As she celebrated her baby joy, the Telenovela actress thought of those less fortunate and took a serious note on Instagram earlier this week as she shared her first photo with her son. “Thank you everyone for showering my baby boy with all your warm wishes!” she wrote. “In light of my son’s birth I wanted to bring focus on the families that have been separated at the border. Having my son next to me, I cannot imagine him being taken from my arms. Families belong together which is why we must do what we can to reunite them. That’s why I am supporting @raicestexas and @aclu_nationwide to help fund legal services for separated families. #keepfamiliestogether.”
As previously reported, people across the U.S. and around the world have spoken out about the Trump administration’s policy to separate children from their parents at the border with Mexico that has seen more than 2,300 children separated from their families. In response to the outcry, President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday, June 20, to keep families together while they are detained, but the fate of the kids already taken from their loved ones remains unclear.
