All eyes may have been on the Paralympic athletes at London’s opening ceremony Wednesday, but the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton sure did her part to turn heads in a stunning dressy ensemble she recycled after wearing it to cousin Zara Phillips‘ wedding.
Donning a cream-colored coat dress from Scandinavian label DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, Prince William‘s wife, 30, accessorized her opening ceremony look with a clutch bag, diamond drop earrings and her trademark LK Bennett pumps.
Socializing with Paralympic Games volunteers and members of the International Paralympic Committee at London’s Olympic Stadium, Middleton attended Thursday’s event with her husband and Queen Elizabeth. (Embroiled in a nude photo scandal, Prince Harry returned back to work at RAF Wattisham earlier this week in the U.K.)
Once the Games officially kicked off, a red polo shirt-clad Middleton and her husband of 16 months cheered on British standout Sarah Storey as she set a world record during the cycling competition.
On Thursday, Middleton donned a comfy-casual look of leggings, a Team GB pullover and bright red sneakers to take in a handball match. In one adorable snapshot, she and her husband cracked up over a private joke in the stands.
Earlier this month, Middleton mingled with Team USA gymnastic standouts Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, Gabby Douglas, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber during the 2012 London Games.
“Meeting Kate Middleton was so cool. She’s so nice and so down-to-Earth. We were leaving the arena and she came up and followed us because she wanted to meet us. We told her we loved her style and she said she loved our leotards,” team captain Raisman told Us Weekly. “It was a really cool experience to see someone we all respect so much and to be able to just have a conversation with her.”
