Who's Top Gun now, Maverick? Tom Cruise found himself on the wrong end of a weapon recently when Emily Blunt held him at gunpoint on the London set of their new movie, All You Need Is Kill, due for release in 2014.
On Saturday, Feb. 2, the costars were photographed filming what appeared to be a very dramatic scene, in which Blunt's character, a special forces soldier, points a gun at Cruise's character. The 50-year-old actor plays Lt. Col. Bill Cage, an Army officer who gets trapped in a time loop that causes him to relive his own death day after day.
Based on a Japanese sci-fi story of the same name, the movie also stars Bill Paxton and Jonas Armstrong. It is being directed by Doug Liman, who worked on the Bourne films with Matt Damon and helmed Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Cruise has thrown himself into his work since his June 2012 split from wife Katie Holmes, with whom he shares daughter Suri, 6. He recently wrapped filming on another sci-fi flick, Oblivion, and in December, he premiered the action movie Jack Reacher, based on a series of books by Lee Child.
