Ciara Explains Inspiration Behind Her and Russell Wilson’s Newborn Son Win’s Name

Giving credit where it’s due! Ciara praised her husband, Russell Wilson, for choosing their newborn son Win’s name.

“That is Daddy,” the singer, 34, told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, August 12, of the moniker. “I give credit to Dad. Oh, my gosh, I’m gonna get emotional. … But they’re good tears, praise the Lord.”

The Texas native said the professional football player, 31, “had all the good names and Win won.” She explained, “Russell would always be like, ‘Here’s Win shortstop,’ like, play[ing] a whole thing out. Russ always had this name Win in the rotation years ago. … Then obviously the middle name, [Harrison], was his dad’s first name, which is really sweet and precious. There was a lot of love and thought put into it.”

The couple, who also share daughter Sienna, 3, welcomed their baby boy on July 23. “Happy Birthday WIN!!!” Ciara captioned the infant’s Instagram debut at the time. “Mommy & Daddy love you!”

The “Level Up” singer is also the mother of son Future Jr., 6, with her ex-fiancé, Future, and told the outlet on Wednesday that she feels the pressure to “do it all” for her family of five.

“Listen, I’m gonna tell all my mommas out there, you’ve got this,” the Grammy winner said. “You are built for everything that you’re going through, and God made us uniquely strong. He gave us this gift to where we can do it all.”

Both of Ciara’s little ones were featured in her Thursday, August 13, music video, “Rooted,” which she filmed just two days ahead of Win’s arrival.

“It was an incredible challenge doing that,” she reflected. “I just felt like it was something deeper for me with this record; the meaning of the song, knowing where I was in my life, carrying a child, getting ready to bring a new seed to life. Everything that we need is rooted in us, and I really believe that. So I just felt empowered through it all.”
