That magic moment. J.K. Rowling and Amy Schumer had a sweet Twitter exchange with each other on Tuesday, August 30, and Harry Potter fans couldn’t handle the shock of their worlds colliding.
The fun interaction started when Rowling, 51, tweeted at Schumer, 35, after the comedian’s show in Edinburgh. “Just seen the goddess that is @amyschumer live in Edinburgh,” the celebrated author tweeted. “What a night.”
Schumer was so excited when she caught wind of Rowling’s words of praise that she immediately wrote back: “Thank you so much! Did you like my sister’s gryffindor hat?!” (Schumer’s sister Kim is often photographed wearing a beanie with red and yellow stripes, the colors of Gryffindor, one of the houses at Hogwarts.)
Rowling, in a similar show of admiration, wrote back that she “*loved* the Gryffindor hat.”
Fans of both the popular fantasy series and the Inside Amy Schumer star went crazy on Twitter over the two women’s online love fest.

This isn’t the first time that Schumer has had a close encounter of the Harry Potter kind. In her 2015 hit Trainwreck, the actress and director Judd Apatow called upon Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe to make a brief cameo in a fake indie flick within the movie, opposite Marisa Tomei.
