Amal Clooney proves that dressing in high-powered business attire doesn’t mean sacrificing style.
The British barrister, 37, who married George Clooney in 2014, headed to her office in Central London for a press conference on Monday, January 25, with a vampy manicure.
Amal’s polish — a deep black-red color — jazzed up her all-red outfit and demonstrated her ability to mix business with trends seamlessly.
The human rights lawyer, who is currently representing the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, chose a crimson business suit trimmed with burgundy velvet, keeping warm with a pair of black hosiery, and completing the look with Salvatore Ferragamo black-and-gold pumps.
When it comes to her newfound international fame, Amal takes the opportunity to not only look good, but also do good. “I think there is a certain responsibility that comes with that,” she said in her first-ever U.S. television interview on January 14. “And you know, I think I’m exercising it in an appropriate manner by continuing to do this kind of work. And engaging with the media on issues that I think are important.”
Despite the Oxford graduate’s on-point style game, her husband jokes that he’s the “arm candy” now. While making an appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert in September 2015, he said, “[I feel] shiny and pretty. That’s mostly what I do now.”
