Abbie Cornish

Abbie Cornish is an Australian actress and rapper best known for her roles in Somersault, Bright Star, Sucker Punch and the Amazon series Jack Ryan. Cornish spent her childhood on a farm in Lochinvar, New South Wales, Australia. She developed an interest in independent and foreign films at a young age and began modeling at age 13, landing her first on screen roles just a few years later.

Cornish began her career after reaching the finals of a Dolly magazine modeling competition. She broke through on Australian television with Wildside, earning the Australian Film Institute Young Actor’s Award for her performance as Simone Summers. Her rise to international fame came with the 2004 drama Somersault, which won her the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actress and established her as one of Australia’s most promising young stars.

Over the years, Cornish has built a film résumé that includes projects like Candy (2006), Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007), Bright Star (2009), Limitless (2011), Sucker Punch (2011), RoboCop (2014), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) and Whale Shark Jack (2026). On television, she’s been featured in series including Outriders, Life Support, Klondike and Jack Ryan.

Cornish has also released music under the name Dusk and, in 2021, she released the EP Key of the Sun. She received a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the ensemble cast of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
Cornish dated Ryan Phillippe from 2006 to 2010 after meeting on the set of Stop-Loss. In 2019, she announced her engagement to mixed martial artist Adel Altamimi.
