Model and actress Elizabeth Hurley was born June 10, 1965. She was first noticed when she won a “Face of the Year” competition sponsored by a local newspaper, winning a yearlong contract with a local agency. She made several small appearances on British film and television, one of which was produced by actor Hugh Grant.
Grant and Hurley dated from 1987 to 2000, and Grant helped propel Hurley into the Hollywood scene when she attended the premiere of his film Four Weddings and a Funeral as his date. Shortly after that red carpet appearance, Hurley landed her longtime spokesmodel contract with Estee Lauder.
In 1997 Hurley landed the starring female role in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. Over the next few years she had roles in several major Hollywood films, but things fell apart when she and Grant split in 2000.
Hurley next began dating producer Stephen Bing, but their relationship fizzled when Bing refused to acknowledge that he and Hurley fathered a son, Damien Charles. (A paternity test later revealed that Bing is, indeed, the father of Hurley’s child.)
In 2007 Hurley married Indian businessman Arun Nayar. The couple had two extravagant weddings in England and India, which became media fodder. After splitting in 2010, Hurley rebounded with Australian cricketer Shane Warne.
