Irina Shayk

Irina Valeryevna Shaykhlislamova was born on January 6, 1986, in Yemanzhelinsk, Russia, to a coal miner and a kindergarten music teacher. She showed musical skills from an early age and eventually enrolled in a music school, where she played piano and sang, at the age of 9.

After graduating high school, Shayk started attending beauty school with her older sister, Tatiana. The model was discovered by a representative from a local modeling agency while there and was encouraged to enter the Miss Chelyabinsk 2004 competition, which she won.

Shayk became the face of Italian lingerie brand Intimissimi in 2007 and made her debut in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue later that year. She signed to modeling agency IMG in May 2009 and was was named the official ambassador of Intimissimi the following year.

Shayk has since modeled for brands including Guess, Victoria’s Secret and Lacoste and has walked the runway for Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and more. She appeared in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for the first time in 2016.

The supermodel made her music video debut in Kanye West’s “Woman” in August 2010 and her movie debut as Megara in 2014’s Hercules, which also starred Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Shayk was in a five-year relationship with Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo until January 2015. She was linked to actor Bradley Cooper three months later and the pair made their red carpet debut during Paris Fashion Week in March 2016. The pair welcomed their first child, daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, in March 2017. They broke up in June 2019.
