The Many Loves of Bradley Cooper: Revisit the Actor's Dating History

Bradley Cooper has dated a string of high-profile women over the years — and ever since his 2019 split from Irina Shayk, he’s been on the market. The ever-growing attention on the Oscar nominee’s love life started early on in his career. After he broke through in 2001 as Will Tippin in Alias, he found love with actress Jennifer Esposito. The pair got engaged in October 2006, just months after the ABC thriller came to an end, and tied the knot that December. Their union ended up being short-lived, however, as Esposito filed for divorce in May 2007. She and Cooper were legally single by the end of that year. “It was just something that happened. The good thing is, we both realized it,” the actor said on The Howard Stern Show in March 2011. “Sometimes you just realize it. … It just wasn’t right.” Cooper was subsequently linked to actresses including Cameron Diaz, Renée Zellweger and Olivia Wilde before embarking on a long-term romance with Zoe Saldana. The Words costars were together on and off from 2011 to 2013. It was just like we were both part of this extensive conversation.” The Silver Linings Playbook star went on to date model Suki Waterhouse from 2013 to 2015 before quickly moving on with another runway star, Shayk. Their relationship turned out to be his most serious to date, with the couple welcoming daughter Lea De Seine in May 2017. However, after four years together, Cooper and Shayk went their separate ways in June 2019. “They’ll coordinate to make sure their daughter is always with one parent,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly after the split. “When Lea has important events in her life, both Bradley and Irina will be there.” While Cooper never publicly spoke about their breakup, the Russia native said in her British Vogue March 2020 cover story that they were “very lucky to experience what we had with each other.” Scroll down to look back at the Hangover star’s dating history: [podcast_block]

Jennifer Esposito

Not only does NCIS actress Esposito rank as the first high-profile mate for Cooper, but she even got him to put a ring on it. The couple got married in December 2006 … and then split in May 2007.

Cameron Diaz

Call it a fling, but any time spent with Diaz is worth noting! Cooper and the comedy star hung out together in the fall of 2007, enjoying outings that included double-dating at football games with a then-married Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.

Renee Zellweger

The Academy Award winner occupies quite a bit of space on the Cooper love timeline, as they reportedly lived together for a year before their long-delayed film Case 39 finally hit theaters in 2010. Dinner dates, vacations and even family visits were caught on camera, but neither Cooper nor Zellweger would officially acknowledge their romance. Sadly, the end of the road came in March 2011.

Olivia Wilde

Before Jennifer Lopez, another raven-haired beauty caught Cooper’s attention: a newly divorced Wilde. She turned up at the New York premiere of Cooper’s movie The Hangover II in June 2011, though she was simultaneously thought to be eyeing Justin Timberlake.

Jennifer Lopez

Peaking in October 2011, word had it that Cooper was sweet on Lopez following news of her divorce from crooner Marc Anthony. Dates included trips to high-end Manhattan restaurants and Miami fashion shows. The duo lost momentum, however, and Cooper was seen briefly with stunning French actress Melanie Laurent before meetingSaldana.

Cooper and his costar in The Words got together and broke up twice, citing “conflicting schedules” for their second and final split in 2013. That was the end of their personal relationship but not their professional one: They’re both stars of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

Cooper and his latest lady love sparked romance rumors when they took in a Broadway show together in March 2015. He and the Russian model welcomed daughter Lea De Seine the following March, though they kept the news a secret until that April. Us confirmed in June 2019 that the couple parted ways after four years together.

In July 2022, Us confirmed that Cooper was briefly linked with the Glee alum in the past. "He was casually dating Dianna when he and Huma [Abedin] started, but it wasn’t serious with Dianna yet," a source exclusively revealed at the time.

After being introduced by Anna Wintour, Cooper and Abedin started dating ahead of the 2022 Met Gala. "Bradley and Huma have been dating for a few months now," an insider shared with Us in July, noting that the pair have "a lot in common" with each other.
