Soccer fever! Whenever World Cup season begins, fans become glued to their TVs to see which country will win the coveted title — while many stars get inspired to lace up their cleats and join in on the fun at home. Everyone from Justin Bieber and Kendra Wilkinson to Niall Horan and Will Ferrell have shown that they’ll play a pick-up game or two. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars have also made it clear that they benefit from the tough workout the game offers. British royals Prince William and Prince Harry — not to mention King Charles III and Princess Kate — love to sweat it out on the field as well. William and Kate’s kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are also super fans of the sport. “Charlotte wanted me to tell you that she is really good at goal,” the Prince of Wales told England’s national women’s team during a June 2022 visit. “She said, ‘Please tell them that.’ She’s a budding star for the future.” One month later, William teamed up with his daughter to share message of support to England’s women’s team as they prepared to play in the UEFA Women’s Euro Final. [jwplayer Osd0Hhm6-zhNYySv2] “We both want to wish the Lionesses the best of luck for tonight,” the prince said in an Instagram video in July 2022 while sitting beside Charlotte. “You’ve done amazingly well in the competition and we’re rooting for you all the way.” The Cambridges aren’t the only stars who’ve made their love of soccer a family affair. David Beckham, who retired from the sport in 2013, passed down his passion to his and Victoria Beckham’s four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. “Such a proud moment as my boy @romeobeckham scores his first goal @intermiamicfii ⚽,” David wrote via Instagram after Romeo made his debut Inter Miami CF II goal in July 2022. “Great free kick mate, more goals to come 🔥.” Romeo, for his part, celebrated his first professional season with the Florida-based team in September 2022. “First full season was full of ups and downs. Not the ending we as a team wanted but only lessons learned to take into next year,” the model wrote via social media. “Love this team and the journey we are on. Vamos Miami 🖤.” Be a good sport!
