Kate Hudson is funny, bubbly, successful, smart and beautiful. But if there’s one thing the actress has become synonymous with, it’s wellness. At 40 years old this Friday, April 19, the Fabletics cofounder has never been wiser with the inspiring life advice she shares — or in her own healthy efforts.
Recently, the mother of three — sons Ryder, 15 (with ex-husband Chris Robinson), and Bingham, 7 (with ex-fiancé Tom Bellamy, and 6-month-old daughter Rani Rose (with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa) — signed on to be a WW ambassador for 2019 to help drop the pregnancy weight she gained with Rani. When the health guru announced the news to her fans on Instagram, she also shared her motivation: “My ‘why’ is really my kids and my family and longevity — wanting to be here as long as I possible can,” she said in a video. “And I just said, ‘OK, I’m going to try this.’”
Since Rani’s birth, the founder of eco-friendly fashion line Happy x Nature — who made headlines for saying she and the baby’s father would raise their daughter with a “genderless approach” — also stepped up her fitness efforts with a daily regimen that includes Pilates, yoga, intense strength training and cardio sessions. “She’s very active but has had to stay disciplined,” a source tells Us. “It’s taken a while, but she’s very happy with the results” — which she showed off six months post-baby.
The Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body author is equally pleased about turning the big 4-0. The source adds that seeing friends like Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner kick ass after 40 made Hudson excited for the milestone: “Kate’s in a great place in her life and is very comfortable entering a new decade. She’s happy to be joining the club. She doesn’t worry about wrinkles or gray hair. She feels like everything gets better with age.”
“Kate doesn’t get worked up about things and knows that whatever difficulties come up will eventually pass,” the source adds of the star. “She’s too busy enjoying every day.”
