So sweet! Christina Anstead made sure that her kids were involved when she and Ant Anstead tied the knot in December 2018.
“They loved the wedding,” the HGTV personality, 35, told Us Weekly exclusively. “They each got up and made little speeches, and we really included them on the big day. They’re all doing really good. They’re settled, happy and content.”
Christina welcomed two children with her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa: Taylor, 8, and Brayden, 3. Ant also shares two kids with ex-wife Louise: Amelie and Archie. The Flip or Flop alums have coparented their brood since their split, and Christina opened up about how they make it work.
The key, the reality star told Us, “is definitely getting along and never, ever complaining about the other parent in front of the children. That’s not fair and definitely not appropriate. I think it’s about giving them the most loving, normal life that you can give them and just raising happy kids.”
Christina added that her second husband treats her kids “well,” and she’d “definitely” like to see El Moussa with someone who follows that example one day.
The two-time mom has a new show, Christina on the Coast, premiering in May, which leaves a lot on her plate in addition to raising her children — but that hasn’t stopped her from setting strict boundaries between her home life and her work life.
“I think [moms] are always just trying to find balance, so I just make sure that I keep my work day as a work day, and when it ends, I make sure that I do all the normal things with the kids like homework, make dinner, talk, play board games,” she said. “I just try to make sure that when I’m home, I’m home and fully present.”
The California native enjoys spending time with her little ones, and some of her favorite date nights with Ant include Taylor and Brayden. “On the weekends, we like to take the kids for bike rides,” she admitted, adding that they also watch them play sports.
