Dorit Kemsley had a lot to celebrate this Halloween after her and estranged husband Paul “PK” Kemsley’s son overcame another health setback.
“The past month has been very difficult for our family,” Dorit, 48, revealed via Instagram on Friday, November 1. “Jagger had 2 surgeries in under a week for septic hip, had to stay in the hospital nearly 2 weeks.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed that “just when we thought it was all over, we had a setback this week.”
The 10-year-old was able to recover enough to go trick-or-treating with his sister, Phoenix, 8, and both parents — despite their separation.
“Luckily, this incredibly brave, courageous little boy is a fighter (like Rocky, as he would say 💪🏼☺️) and we were able to enjoy Halloween like he desperately wanted to,” Dorit shared. “That made this Halloween extra special for all of us. 🙏🏼🎃.”
In early October, PK announced that Jagger had been hospitalized due to an undisclosed medical issue.
“Our little boy Jagger has been unwell for the last few weeks, Mommy and Daddy have been with him in the wonderful @cedarssinai we wanted to publicly thank them and the Drs and Nurses,” the 57-year-old wrote via Instagram on October 15. “We are still here but he’s 🙏on the mend. … He’s our Rocky.”
Dorit gave a shout-out on Friday to the doctors at Cedars Sinai in California for helping Jagger feel better.
“I’m in awe and so proud of our little munchkin, his strength, positive mindset and can-do attitude he’s maintained through everything he’s been through,” the designer continued. “Feeling blessed and hopeful that better days lay ahead.”
Dorit also shared several group photos from Halloween, revealing that the family dressed up as the Flintstones. “Yabadaba dooo from the Flintstones! ☀️🤍,” she captioned the pics.
The reality star channeled her inner Wilma Flintstone, complete with a red wig, white dress and bone-style necklace. Dorit’s estranged husband rocked a black wig and an orange-dotted costume with blue necklace to match the iconic Fred Flintstone’s TV image.
Jagger, dressed as Bamm-Bamm Rubble, flexed his muscles in the pictures, wearing shorts that matched his dad’s costume and a suspender with a bone at the bottom. Phoenix, meanwhile, went as Pebbles Flintstone. She wore an orange dress with tulle as the skirt and had a bone in her hair.
Jagger’s health scare and the family’s Halloween reunion came five months after Dorit and PK announced their separation.
“We as a couple have been subject to a lot of speculation about our marriage. We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together,” the pair wrote via Instagram in May. “To safeguard our deep friendship and maintain a harmonious environment for our children we have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children.”
Dorit, who married PK in March 2015 after four years of dating, addressed their split later that month. “S— happens,” she wrote via Instagram after a fan asked why they weren’t “stronger than ever” as previously advertised. Dorit explained at the time that “it’s called life” and the pair were taking things “one day at a time.”
As the estranged spouses are navigating their new normal, PK revealed in September that he was nine months sober. “It’s so strong and empowering,” he wrote via Instagram, telling his followers that he feels and looks “better.”
