Yep, Drake is a dad! The rapper confirmed on his new double album, Scorpion, which was released on Friday, June 29, that he secretly fathered a child with former porn star Sophie Brussaux.
The 25-track project ends with a song titled “March 14,” on which Drake, 31, recalls the moment when he first found out that he has a son named Adonis. “Yesterday morning was crazy / I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe / That s–t is in stone, sealed and signed / She not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine,” he raps. “[My mom] Sandi used to tell me all it takes is one time, and all it took was one time / S–t, we only met two times, two times.”

He continues, “Single father, I hate when I hear it / I used to challenge my parents on every album / Now I’m embarrassed to tell them I ended up as a coparent / Always promised the family unit / I wanted it to be different because I’ve been through it / But this is the harsh truth now.”
The Degrassi alum then speaks directly to his son: “Fairytales are saved for the bedtime stories I tell you now / I don’t want you to worry about whose house you live at / Or who loves you more or who’s not there / Who did what to who ‘fore you got here.”
Drake reveals that he received the “first positive DNA [results] we ever celebrated” during a trip to Miami. He goes on to note that he has only met 8-month-old Adonis, who was born on October 11, once around Christmas time. “Introduced you to Saint Nick / I think he must’ve brought you like 20 gifts,” he raps.
The Toronto native also acknowledges fatherhood on “Emotionless,” which samples Mariah Carey’s 1991 single “Emotions.” He raps, “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world / I was hidin’ the world from my kid / From empty souls who just wake up and looked to debate / Until you starin’ at your seed, you can never relate / Breaking news in my life, I don’t run to the blogs / The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call / They always ask, ‘Why let the story run if it’s false?’ / You know a wise man once said nothin’ at all.”
Us Weekly confirmed in May that Drake has been financially supporting Brussaux since she became pregnant with their son. The new parents were spotted having dinner together in Amsterdam in January 2017, three months before she told TMZ that she was pregnant.
Pusha T was the first to reveal Adonis’ existence in his diss track “The Story of Adidon,” which was released on May 29. The MC, 41, called rapped, “You are hiding a child / Let that boy come home / Deadbeat motherf–ka, playin’ border control.” Drake had not acknowledged the rumors until he dropped Scorpion.
