The Flipping Out star, 49, and his ex-boyfriend talked for three hours with their attorneys about a single week of visitation, Lewis admitted on the Tuesday, June 18, episode of his SiriusXM radio show, Jeff Lewis Live. “It was never resolved,” he said. “Am I going to spend $6,000? a week to talk about visitation? It was insane.”

The Bravo personality went on to say that his ex “came in hot, and it was really ugly.”

“[Edward] couldn’t keep it together. He was so angry and irrational that they had to move him to another conference room,” Lewis admitted. “Unfortunately, during breakups you see people for who they really are. The problem is, when you hurt each other this way, it’s very hard to get through it. Sometimes people do such terrible things and say such terrible things.”

That being said, the California native would love to “just sit down and talk” with Edward. “Not only could it be resolved, it could be better than what the courts will say,” he said.

The former couple welcomed their daughter via surrogate in October 2016, splitting just over two years later.

“This has been a long time coming,” Lewis said on his show in January. “We’ve been in separate rooms for a very long time … We’ve had a lot of discussions about it … It was kind of like a roommate situation.”

Last month, Monroe’s parents were “in a good place.” In fact, the reality star said that they didn’t need any attorneys at the time. “[Edward] understands that we need some kind of structure,” Lewis explained on his show, which was why they decided to go over each week of visitation ahead of time.
