Jessie James Decker Defends Son Eric’s 5th Birthday Party Amid Coronavirus Pandemic: We Were ‘Careful’

“We had the best day celebrating Bubby’s 5th birthday!” the Kittenish creator, 32, captioned an Instagram slideshow at the time. “So grateful for such wonderful friends who celebrated with us!! Bubby had the time of his life!!!”

In the party pictures, the birthday boy smiled while his friends and family sang “Happy Birthday.” Eric and his siblings, Vivianne, 6, and Forrest, 2, also enjoyed cotton candy, pool play and a piñata.

When an Instagram user commented, “No pandemic there anymore,” the Just Jessie author said she understood her follower’s “concern.”

The “Flip My Hair” singer wrote, “We’ve been very careful. This small group of children celebrating Bubby are already in the same class at school so we are around each other all the time already.”

She and husband Eric Decker celebrated their eldest son’s return to school last month. “First day of pre-k for my handsome Bubby boy!” Jessie wrote via Instagram in August. “My creative, mischievous, sweet soul is ready to conquer the world!”

When it comes to having more kids, the Italy native exclusively told Us Weekly in January that baby No. 4 may not “be in the cards” for her and the former professional football player, 33.

“We’re in such a good rhythm right now,” the fashion designer explained. “I feel like we’re good right now. We’re good at where we are. We’re busy enough. We have so many things going on.”

Jessie went on to say that Eric was not on the same page, adding, “He just loves our babies so much. He wants more. I told him he’s got to just hang on for a minute there … you never know. He doesn’t want to permanently do anything about it, so he is leaving things open. I’m not, but he is.”

The couple, who wed in September 2013, have similar parenting styles, although the Just Feed Me author is “more nervous” than her husband, she told Us at the time. “Eric is a bit more like, ‘Let them learn.’”
