Jon plus one! Jon Gosselin proudly sent daughter Hannah off for her first day of school, and her seven siblings are seemingly nowhere to be found.
“Congrats Hannah on your first day of school, proud of you,” the 41-year-old father wrote in the caption to the snapshot, posted on Monday, August 27. “I admire your bravery starting fresh!!! I Love you very much and we have worked really hard to get here. Dedication has really paid off. I’m so happy you integrated yourself into the community, you made friends all summer and now you will grow and graduate with them. I’m honored to be your father!!! Love you, Dad #newbeginnings.”
The Instagram post comes four days after Jon’s ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, posted a similar back-to-school photo of six more of their children: twins Mady and Cara, 17; and sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Leah and Joel, 14. In that post, the children are wearing school uniforms, while Hannah is in plain clothes in Jon’s post, suggesting Hannah is going to a different school than her siblings.
Not pictured in either photo is the sixth sextuplet, Collin, who’s enrolled in a special needs program away from home. But according to one of Jon’s recent Instagram posts, he and Hannah celebrated Collin’s 14th birthday with him in May.
In fact, Jon’s Instagram photos have shown Hannah spending a lot of quality time with her dad this summer — celebrating the Fourth of July with him, for example. In an Instagram Live video captured by RadarOnline.com, Jon told followers that Hannah lives “permanently” with him.
Jon and Kate Gosselin were married from 1999 to 2009. They announced their split during the fifth season of TLC’s reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, while Us Weekly exclusively reported on Jon’s three-month affair with elementary school teacher Deanna Hummel. The series was rebooted as Kate Plus 8 and ran for six more seasons.
