Expanding the family. Nick Jonas is already looking forward to having kids with his new wife, Priyanka Chopra.
“I definitely want to be a father someday,” the “Jealous” singer, 26, admitted on Spotify’s “The Rewind With Guy Raz,” which was released on Friday, December 14. “I think that’s a real dream.”
Jonas, who skyrocketed to fame with his brothers when he was very young, explained that he had to grow up quickly, which he thinks will help him raise a child.
“I think I’ve had to grow up pretty quick. With that, you could look at it two ways,” he explained. “You could say that was unfair or you could say it’s given me some real perspective at an early age and I’ve seen a lot of life at an early age, and I hope to be able to share that with a kid of my own someday.” The Jonas Brothers formed in 2005 and got their big break when they signed with Hollywood Records in 2007.
The Disney Channel alum may not currently have any children of his own yet, but he’s incredibly close to his nieces, Alena, 4, and Valentina, 2, whom brother Kevin Jonas shares with his wife, Danielle.
“My beautiful nieces teaching me everything I know on the keys,” the “Chains” musician wrote via Instagram on Thursday, December 13, along with a picture of himself playing the piano with the girls.
The newlyweds tied the knot on December 1 in an extravagant Western ceremony at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Two months before their wedding, however, they were already planning for the future. A source told Us Weekly at the time, “[They] keep talking about starting a family together. They have amazing chemistry and can’t wait to have kids.”
The insider explained that Nick and Chopra, 36, were going to “wait till after the wedding to start trying” for kids, but getting pregnant is “definitely on the agenda” now that they’re married.
Us confirmed the news of the pair’s engagement in late July, two months after Us exclusively revealed that they had started dating.
