Out in the open! Nikki Bella plans to document every step of her postpartum weight loss journey.
“Head to my IG stories for the raw and real me,” the Total Bellas star, 36, captioned a Monday, September 7, Instagram selfie. “Super scared!”
Posting a video of herself in a sports bra and underwear was “really hard to do,” the reality star said on her Story. “I felt like it was the right thing to do because sometimes on social media, people in the spotlight truly don’t showcase how hard postpartum can be and the journey of getting your body back. I want to bring you all along in the realest and rawest way possible. So here I am. I am 18 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight.”
The former professional wrestler said that at “five weeks postpartum,” she knew “the majority” of her weight gain was from “having a lot of fun.”
Bella explained, “I indulged in pizza quite a bit toward the end, especially when it got hotter and I was sick of being locked up [amid the coronavirus pandemic]. I used pregnancy as an excuse a lot and my fiancé, [Artem Chigvintsev], happens to be a gourmet chef, but I have to take accountability.”
The California native, who welcomed her and the Dancing With the Stars pro’s baby boy in July, wants to lose 18 pounds “in the healthiest way possibly” because she’s currently “breast-feeding” the little one.
“Giving my son the most amazing nutrition is No. 1,” the former athlete said. “There’s gonna be no crash no diets, no starving myself, it’s gonna be bringing workouts back in and healthy nutrition. … Being a mom is the most rewarding thing ever. It’s worth all the curves, all the changes, the hard work to get my body back in shape because I have the most amazing little boy ever. My Matteo is way worth it.”
Nikki’s video came two days after her twin sister, Brie Bella, said she was 13 pounds away from her pre-pregnancy weight. “I have one more week until hopefully I am cleared to work out,” she said on Saturday, September 5. “[I’ve been] dying to work out. It’s been killing me.”
Brie, who shares Birdie, 3, and Buddy, 1 month, with Daniel Bryan, “looks so good,” Nikki gushed on Monday. “I try to copy her,” the “Total Bellas Podcast” cohost added. “Our mom lives, right now, are a bit different. She has two, I have one.”Listen to Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood as each week the editors of Us break down the hottest entertainment news stories!
