Did Royal Family’s Website Accidentally Reveal Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s Baby’s Name?

Are Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan having a boy? Fans are speculating that the royal family’s website may have accidentally revealed the baby-to-be’s possible male moniker.

That’s because searching the royal family’s website homepage with possible names, including “/prince-arthur,” “/prince-alexander” or “/prince-james,” redirects users back to the site’s main page. This could mean that pages are set up for these names, but not live.

This is not the case when searching for other names. “/princess-grace,” for example, leads to a “Page not found” error instead.

Because of this, fans speculated that the site has revealed Arthur, Alexander and James to be top choices for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal baby.  After all, Arthur and James were both top names chosen by betting company Ladbrokes and bookmaker BetVictor in October 2018.

Buckingham Palace addressed the rumors on Tuesday, April 30, telling E! News in a statement, “A large number of search term redirects were set up some time ago on royal.uk. This was in order to improve user experience.” A similar situation happened ahead of Prince Louis‘ April 2018 arrival.

Meghan and Harry have yet to reveal the sex of their baby, or the little one’s chosen moniker. In fact, the couple, who tied the knot in May 2018, confirmed that they will be keeping the former actress’ birth plans under wraps.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement earlier this month. “Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The duke and duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
