Courteney Cox opened up about her struggles with infertility on her new Facebook Watch docu-series, 9 Months With Courteney Cox, and the Friends alum admitted that it never occurred to her to hide her trials.

“No one ever taught me that lesson,” the Cougar Town alum, 54, told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, February 20. “I didn’t know you were supposed to be private. I just don’t think like that. … If I can share any light or give any wisdom to somebody, or hope, I would share anything I can. In the end, I think that’s important.”

The Golden Globe nominee gave birth to her daughter, Coco, now 14, with her ex-husband, David Arquette, when she was 40, after multiple miscarriages and IVF treatments. Her new show, which she narrates and executive-produces, follows families dealing with similar issues.

“There is not an episode that I don’t cry,” Cox said. “It’s a story about 10 different couples that are taking us through the journey of their pregnancy and you deal with everything from cancer to alcoholism, I mean you name it. Whether you can keep the baby, whether you should keep the baby, whether you wanted to get pregnant… you [get] this intimate look that’s not sensationalized.”

The actress added, “I think the stories are important to tell just because you wanna know that you’re not alone and it gives people hope. So it kind of brings people together.”

While promoting her series on the Late Late Show With James Corden, Cox, who is currently dating singer Johnny McDaid, revealed that she never talked about sex with her parents growing up.

“I didn’t learn anything. My mom never talked to me about one thing that I should have known,” the Shrink Is In author said. “I shouldn’t probably say this, but I will. I was a virgin until I was 21. We can be proud of that.”
