Bradley Cooper poured his heart into A Star Is Born to make sure that his directorial debut made an impact in Hollywood, but his relationship with Irina Shayk suffered as a result.
“Bradley wasn’t able to be the partner Irina needed during the filming and promoting of A Star Is Born,” a source tells Us Weekly. “He was so focused on making sure it was perfect.”

Us confirmed on Thursday, June 6, that Cooper, 44, and Shayk, 33, called it quits on their four-year romance. A source said the breakup has been “complicated” because of the former couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine, while another insider revealed that they hadn’t “been getting along for a while.”
The Oscar nominee and the supermodel started dating in April 2015 and made their red carpet debut a year later at the L’Oréal Red Obsession party during Paris Fashion Week. She was by his side throughout much of the 2019 awards season as he and costar Lady Gaga promoted A Star Is Born.
Some fans speculated that Cooper and Gaga, 33, were secretly in love off screen, which the “Born This Way” singer quickly denied. A source told Us that “nothing romantic” happened between the castmates, and the American Sniper star’s separation from Shayk had “nothing to do with” his bond with the pop star.

Gaga, for her part, called off her nearly two-year engagement to Christian Carino in February. The talent agent, 50, raised eyebrows on Monday, June 10, when he “liked” Shayk’s sexy Instagram post.
