It’s amore! After tying the knot in a star-studded ceremony on July 13, newlyweds Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney flew overseas to Italy. During the couple’s romantic honeymoon, the spouses — wearing their brand new wedding bands — went shopping and sightseeing in Portofino, a small fishing village on the Italian Riviera.
Kimmel kept in touch with his fans during the trip, joking about his travels via Twitter. “Under a Tuscan sun, can’t help but wonder who would choose the gnarled, twig-like version of Cheez Doodles when Puffed Doodles exist,” the late-night host wrote July 22.
The twice-wed star couldn’t escape the biggest news in the world, either. After the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s son, Prince George Alexander Louis, Kimmel joked, “On the radio in Italy this week, the name I hear most is ‘Kate Meedletone.'”
Kimmel, 45, and McNearney, 35, said “I do” in Ojai, Calif., before a handful of celebrity guests, including Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
The evening ceremony started with a prank: McNearney sent a wedding gown-clad Gabourey Sidibe down the wood-planked aisle in her place. “It was so funny!” a guest told Us Weekly of the swap. The bride and groom tearfully recited their vows under a 150-year-old oak tree. “Molly and Jimmy were looking into each other’s eyes the whole time,” said an invitee.
At the lively reception, McNearney’s sister told the couple, “You’re the best people I know,” while Kimmel’s brother told them to “make some baby Bachelors and Bachelorettes!” The couple’s 300 guests partied until midnight, according to a source: “It was wild!”
