Nothing says friendship like a butt graze! Katy Perry pulled a Jennifer Aniston at The Daily Front Row’s star-studded Fashion Los Angeles Awards on Thursday, Jan. 22, where she and fellow pop star Miley Cyrus partied like longtime friends.
An observer at the bash tells Us Weekly that Cyrus, 22, was posing for photos inside the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, when fashionista Nicole Richie came over and gave her a hug. The two were chatting when Perry joined the circle.
Photos from the party showed Perry, 30, in shower shoes and Moschino’s Barbie-inspired collection, affectionately hugging superstar peer Cyrus, who was clad in a Jeremy Scott piece reading “I had nothing to wear so I put on this Moschino dress.”
The observer tells Us that the three women were “in a little cluster,” when Perry put her arm around Cyrus and rested her hand on the “We Can’t Stop” singer’s butt.
“They all leaned in with serious expressions,” the insider tells Us, “until an announcement was made for everyone to take their seats.”
A second attendee overheard snippets from their conversation. “Katy joked to Miley that Nicole stole her look because of the pink hair,” the insider tells Us. “Miley complimented Katy’s pink hair.”
Other A-listers to attend the party on Thursday included Kanye West, Kerry Washington, Rihanna, Drew Barrymore, and Ciara. Inside the event, Cyrus presented Scott with an award and joked: “You’re catching me in rare form… I’m sober, and I’m also wearing clothes this evening. You can thank [Jeremy] when I don’t have my titties out.”
Scott supporters Perry and Cyrus are known pals, even exchanging a kiss last March at a Bangerz tour stop. On the opposite end, however, Perry’s ex Diplo dissed the “Roar” singer’s nemesis Taylor Swift again in a recent interview with GQ.
“Taylor Swift is very strategic with her friends and enemies. And I know lots of secrets,” the DJ, 36, told the mag. “I can’t divulge, but I know a lot of stuff about her. And I’m scared. I’m scared for my life.”
