LC still xo JT! Lauren Conrad told Us Weekly at the Mondrian South Beach in Miami Beach, Fla., that her childhood crush will forever be Justin Timberlake, even after he famously dissed reality TV back in 2007.
The former Hills star, 28, told Us that Timberlake graced her California bedroom walls as a child. Asked whether it was "young curly-haired Justin" or post-'N Sync Timberlake, she elaborated of the latter: "Like, the hair, license-plate-around-the-neck Justin in his prime."
Conrad's hilarious admission was made while hosting the Malibu Spiced Summer Soiree on Wednesday, July 9—nearly seven years after Timberlake memorably snubbed reality television onstage at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.
"Play more damn videos," Timberlake said while accepting the award for Male Artist of the Year. "I want to challenge MTV to play more videos."
Speaking with Us in November 2007, Conrad vented her frustration about Timberlake's comments. "The biggest letdown was Justin Timberlake," Conrad told Us. "I have always loved him, and he was a disappointment at the VMAs. Whitney [Port] and I presented him with an award. We were so excited, and he wouldn’t even take the award from us. Then he went up to the microphone and insulted reality television on MTV. We were standing up there smiling, and I felt so stupid."
Years later, the Paper Crown fashion designer revisited his hurtful remarks in a 2012 interview with Us. ''I had the posters and went to concerts, I felt like every girl my age had that crush," Conrad said. "It was probably the end of my love for him.''
Though her tween feelings fizzled, Conrad eventually found true love in former Something Corporate rocker William Tell, to whom she's currently engaged. Timberlake married his love Jessica Biel in October 2012.
