Has A-Rod found The One? Alex Rodriguez has navigated a series of high-profile relationships, with his latest love being fitness and lifestyle expert Jac Cordeiro.
The former New York Yankees third baseman’s love life first made headlines when he married Cynthia Scurtis in 2002. They welcomed two daughters: Natasha in 2004 and Ella in 2008. The same year their youngest child was born, Scurtis filed for divorce, citing “emotional abandonment” and “marital misconduct” in the court documents. The exes reached a settlement in September 2008.
Rodriguez was later linked to Madonna, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz and tech CEO Anne Wojcicki before nearly settling down with Jennifer Lopez. The twosome got engaged in 2019 after two years together but pulled the plug on their romance in 2021.
“We had a great time,” Rodriguez told Martha Stewart in July 2022, revealing that he has “no regrets” about his broken engagement. “More importantly, we always put the kids front and center in everything we do. Here’s what I will tell you about Jennifer, and I was telling some of my colleagues here the other day, she’s the most talented human being I’ve ever been around.”
While Lopez went on to marry Ben Affleck in July 2022, Rodriguez started dating Kathryne Padgett. Us Weekly confirmed in September 2022, however, that the relationship was over after less than one year.
“They remain friends. They had fun the few months they dated, but it never got really serious. He’s doing just fine — getting into shape and focusing on family and his career,” an insider told Us at the time.
That same month, the athlete told CNN that he still believes he is “good husband material.”
“I think I’m gonna make a wonderful partner or husband and father post-suspension, because of the lessons learned [from] my biggest mistakes,” the retired MLB player said. “When I was 15 years old, I think Sports Illustrated called me a top player in the country, and at that time, I was Alex Rodriguez. And then somewhere along the way at 24, I get a $252 million contract, and probably in Texas, I lost my way a little bit and I became A-Rod.”
By the end of the year, Rodriguez had officially started dating Cordeiro.
“[Their relationship is] fairly new,” a source exclusively told Us in October 2022. “They’re enjoying spending time together.”
Two months later, the couple celebrated their first Christmas together. Cordeiro posted clips from their time at the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers game via Instagram set to Jackson 5’s “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.”
