Burger King has some harsh words for Kanye West. On Sunday, November 4, the “All of the Lights” singer tweeted that McDonald’s is his “favorite restaurant.” While it’s not clear exactly why Yeezy chose to divulge his fast-food preferences on social media, the Golden Arches chief competitor clapped back with a savage diss.
Hours after West, 41, shared his pro-McDonald’s tweet, the UK Burger King Twitter account shot back, “Explains a lot.” The rebuttal, which is a thinly veiled reference to some of West’s recent erratic behavior, has gone viral, already netting more than 189,000 retweets, 720,000 likes and 4,000 comments.

“Burger King really just flamed McDonald’s AND Kanye in three words,” wrote one impressed user. Added another: “Please give whoever’s running this page a raise.”
In fact, the BK clapback has been such a hit that the account addressed all of the hoopla in a subsequent tweet on Monday, November 5: “If we knew this was going to blow up we would have made a soundcloud..” That tweet in itself is in reference to Ye’s penchant for the outdated music-sharing platform, which he has used in the past to debut multiple new songs.
What’s more? The U.S. Burger King Twitter account also got in on the fun, responding to West’s initial McDonald’s tweet with a bit of a dig of its own. The retort – “eyes still closed I guess” – pokes fun at the Adidas designer’s recent assertion that his “eyes are now wide open” when it comes to politics.
A source tells Us Weekly that West’s other antics — including tweeting that he wanted to abolish the amendment that outlawed slavery — have his wife, Kim Kardashian, “concerned” that the “I Love It” singer is becoming “unhinged.”
