Not your average cup of tea! Kylie Jenner loves things that are colorful, bold and downright fabulous, so it’s no surprise that she showed off one of her new favorite beverages, which changes hues before your eyes.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 23, took to her Instagram Stories on Monday, August 17, to highlight her relaxing drink, which was given to her along with a paleo and vegan chocolate chip cookie. “Look how cool this drink is — butterfly pea tea,” Jenner said as she focused the camera on a cup filled with blue liquid. “No food coloring.”
The Kylie Skin founder then picked up a slice of lemon that came with her tea. “Watch, it changes colors when you put lemon in it,” she said as she squeezed a bit of juice from the citrus fruit into the cup.
After giving the tea a quick stir, it went from a vibrant blue hue to a bold purple shade. “Wow,” Jenner exclaimed.
According to a note that came with the E! personality’s drink, which it appears she enjoyed while on vacation for her birthday, it’s a Thai beverage that changes colors when its pH level is altered. By adding a bit of acidic lemon juice to the mix, the drink transforms from blue to purple.
This colorful trick came a day after Jenner was accused of captioning one of her Instagram photos “brown skinned girl” — something she has vehemently denied.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder took to Instagram on Sunday, August 16, to post photos of herself posing in a patterned jumpsuit. Her post’s current caption reads, “brown eyed girl,” but another version of the photo circulating Twitter made it seem as if she controversially used “brown skinned girl” to describe her snapshots.
The Life of Kylie alum denied using that term in Instagram comments via a post from The Shade Room and addressed the issue further in her Instagram Stories, where she shared side-by-side comparisons of the real and doctored versions of her post. “[I] saw online someone Photoshopped this photo I posted to change the caption to ‘brown skinned girl,’” she wrote, sharing images of the faux pic. “I never said this.”
Jenner continued by reposting the “real version” in another Instagram Story update, writing: “My caption was ‘
’ then changed to ‘brown eyed girl ‘’ a few minutes later and that is it.”
