We definitely know celebrities here at Us and could give you a full history lesson of Keeping Up With The Kardashians from start to present day, dish details about any member of the British royal family and share all of the antics of Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and their brood. But we found something that will put the spotlight on you and your family in a really special way — and provide some much needed holiday conversation starters with relatives.

With the help of the Ancestry DNA Kit, we can now get the scoop on exactly where we come from, who our ancestors were and what kinds of lives they led. We are up for a fresh self-discovery experience thanks to these neat kits, which are on sale for the holidays.

Yes, now is the time for Us to finally find out if we are descendants of royalty in another country, or multiple (yet still relevant) degrees away from Rihanna, or even Oprah‘s long-lost cousin. For the record, if any of these hypotheticals are indeed true, we pledge to never stop annoying the world with bragging rights. Brace yourselves.

Ancestry, which has already connected 20 million family members to a deeper family story through DNA testing kits, is the world’s largest collection of online records for people to dig through and make their discoveries. In other words, Ancestry is out to show Us that the family tree is likely a lot bigger than what we currently know about.

For anyone wanting to do a deeper dive into their family background, Ancestry offers DNA kits and now is the best time to snag one since the brand has marked them down for the holidays. The Ancestry DNA kits are now on sale for $59 instead of their usual $99 cost.

See it: Snag the Ancestry DNA Kit (marked down 40 percent off its original $99, now $59) while the deal is available. Need to grab more than one? Buy three and get one free.

The DNA portion of the kit can show traits we might have never heard of before and gives the opportunity to share and compare discoveries for as many as 18 of our most unique personal traits. Access to Ancestry also can help combine DNA results with over 100 million family trees and 20 billion records so we can learn more about our genealogy and origins. The kits, which are two times more geographically detailed than any other DNA test available, can help determine those origins in more than 350 regions around the world. These tests even share information on family migrations including how and why they moved from place to place.

We can even find out the coolest, smallest details about our loved ones. For example, Kelly Ripa discovered she had an Italian ancestor whose livelihood was making macaroni, according to the Ancestry site. Yummy!

Ancestry also has gift memberships that we can order for our friends to join us in the origin tracing fun.

These memberships are available in two different packages: U.S. Discovery and World Explorer. The U.S. Discovery package allows users to learn everything there is to know about the history of their families’ lives in the United States. We can trace family members back to our international roots using the World Explorer package — aka, settle that royal suspicion once and for all.

The gift memberships are meant to be paid for by one person and only available to be used by the recipient.  Gift Memberships, unlike the regular Ancestry Memberships we can buy for ourselves, cannot be renewed and allow access to Ancestry from the gift start date until it ends.

People who have used Ancestry shared the many ways they have been rewarded by the experience. Many were able to meet relatives they had no idea existed or start other fun investigations about themselves! One woman was even able to track down information about her great-grandfather and solve a years-long mystery about his goings and comings. (Hint: prison time is involved, but the story has a happy ending.)

These kits could give us information that will really heat things up at the family dinner table. They could also create a really fun bonding experience with our family members as we embark on the journey of discovery together. While we may not discover we are the rightful heirs to a throne overseas (but yes, fingers still crossed), whatever cool facts we do find will only add to Us being able to celebrate who we are and the people and traits who make up our families.

See it: Get the Ancestry U.S. Discovery Membership for six months (marked down 20 percent off its original $99 price, now $79) or for 12 months (marked down 34 percent off its original $189, now $124) while the deal is available. Get the World Explorer for six months (marked down 20 percent off its original $149, now $119) or for 12 months (marked down almost 20 percent off its original $298, now $239) while the deal is still on.
